Hideg Pharmacy Inc., in Belleville, IL, is an independently owned pharmacy in the west end of Belleville where customers feel comfortable shopping. It is a business that they know they can trust, especially after 60 years of business in the same location, with familiar faces that are associated with the establishment.
Customers first met the present owner, Donald “Don” Johnston, back in 1972. At the time, Don worked for the original owners, Joe and Eleanor Hideg, as a part-time stock boy while attending Althoff Catholic High School. He developed an interest in the pharmacy profession at this time and moved up to apprentice while completing his degree at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Don graduated in 1980 and became a pharmacist at Hideg Pharmacy thereafter. Later he became a partner and then owner of the business.
Michael “Mike” started at Hideg Pharmacy in 2007 while attending St. Louis University High School. He was accepted at St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2007 and graduated in 2013. He became a pharmacist at Hideg Pharmacy thereafter.
Megan Schaller started at Hideg Pharmacy in 2010 while attending Althoff Catholic High School. She was accepted into St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2012. Megan graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2018 and became a pharmacist thereafter.
Hideg Pharmacy has always been more than just a "drugstore." Hideg Pharmacy offers many specialized services and supplies that are often difficult to find elsewhere including, diabetic testing supplies, ostomy and colostomy supplies, walkers, canes, crutches and wheelchairs, bathroom supplies, wound care supplies, home medical equipment, and Jobst compression socks.
